Biography

James Fausto is the Medical Director of Palliative Care at UW Medicine and serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine. He completed his Executive Masters in Health Administration at the University of Washington in 2018 and was selected as a Cambia Health Foundation Sojourns Leadership Scholar in 2019, a national leadership development award aimed at improving palliative care leadership. His professional interests encompass hospice and palliative medicine, healthcare leadership, and medical education. James earned a Bachelor's degree from Grinnell College and his M.D. from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Medical School. He completed his residency in family medicine at the Montefiore Medical Center's Department of Family and Social Medicine and also underwent fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center - Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Before joining the faculty at the University of Washington School of Medicine in 2015, he held various positions at Montefiore Medical Center, including Fellowship Director for the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship and Medical Director of the Palliative Care Service.
