Biography

James D. Fleck, C.C., earned his B.A. from the University of Western Ontario and a D.B.A. from Harvard University. He returned to Canada to help establish the Faculty of Administrative Studies at York University. Fleck has had a distinguished career across private, government, and academic sectors, notably serving as Secretary to the Cabinet under Premier William Davis in Ontario. He is the founder and former CEO of Fleck Manufacturing Co. and has served on various corporate boards. As a professor emeritus, he has received an Honorary Degree from the University of Toronto and has held significant roles in various cultural institutions, including President of the Art Gallery of Ontario and Vice Chair of the Museum of Civilization. Fleck has been recognized with multiple awards for his leadership and contribution to the arts, including the Edmund C.
