Dr. James Head

Biography

James Head is an Emeritus Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specializing in Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biophysics. He focuses on characterizing the molecular details of protein-ligand and protein-protein interactions, exploring how these interactions regulate physiological processes. His research primarily investigates the role of calcium ions in mediating changes in protein-ligand interactions, which subsequently alter protein-protein interactions and modulate function. His studies have included the use of X-ray crystallography as a major tool for research. As a member of the Boston University Pulmonary Center at Boston Medical Center, Dr. Head has a robust history of research funding and collaboration.
