Biography

James Jarvis is a Full Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Ottawa and a pediatric surgeon at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). He served as Chief of the Division of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at CHEO from 2002 to 2012 and was the Orthopaedic Residency Program Director from 1997 to 2003. He completed his Fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Texas, in 1985 and at Children's Hospital Eastern Ontario in 1984. Jarvis obtained his Medical Doctorate from the University of Calgary in 1978 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Queen's University in 1971. He has focused his research on Spinal Deformity Surgery and Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery, contributing significantly to the field through his clinical practice and academic work.
