Biography

J. Stevenson Kenney was born in St. Louis, MO, in 1962 and received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1985, 1990, and 1994, respectively. He has over 14 years of industrial experience in wireless communications and has held engineering management positions at Electromagnetic Sciences, Scientific Atlanta, Pacific Monolithics, and Spectrian. In January 2000, Dr. Kenney returned to Georgia Tech as an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and became a Professor Emeritus in 2023. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 technical papers in the areas of microwave electronics, acoustics, and signal processing. His research interests focus on RF microwave power amplifier design, behavioral simulation, PA linearization, advanced RFIC design, phase shifters, and beam forming networks for smart antennas. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society, where he served as an elected member of the MTT-S Administrative Committee for 10 years and was MTT-S President in 2007 and Treasurer from 2001 to 2003. In 2005, he received the MTT-S Applications Award.
