Biography

James MacAllister is a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy Education at the University of Edinburgh, where he leads the Philosophy Education Pathway within the MSc Education program. He holds a PhD in Philosophy of Education, awarded in 2011 from the University of Edinburgh, and has also achieved an MSc in Philosophy (with Distinction) and an MSc in Education from the same institution, alongside a BEd (Hons) in Primary Education. His academic roles also include positions at the University of Manchester and the University of Stirling. MacAllister has authored a research monograph published by Routledge, titled 'Reclaiming Discipline in Education: Knowledge, Relationships, and Community', and is currently engaged in writing a book exploring the intersection of film, ethics, and education.
