Biography

James Noll is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University. He has expertise in anxiety and mood disorders, personality disorders, and trauma. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Purdue University in 1987, followed by his Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Psychology from Northern Illinois University in 1993 and 1999 respectively. Dr. Noll completed an internship at the Lexington KY Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he underwent rotations in geropsychology, neuropsychology, and acute care. He has been a practicing community psychologist since 1995 and became a licensed psychologist in Indiana in 2000. Dr. Noll's research interests include treating anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and trauma in elderly patients, as well as advanced training for military personnel and their families. He has served as an Adjunct Instructor at Purdue University's Counseling Psychology program, teaching various courses including clinical supervision and counseling theory. Additionally, he is currently a Behavioral Health Officer with the Indiana Army National Guard and was deployed to the Persian Gulf in 2019.
