Dr. James Panek

Biography

James Panek is the Samour Family Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Boston University College of Arts and Sciences. He earned his PhD from the University of Kansas and has focused his research on synthetic organic chemistry, particularly in the area of chirality induction. His work includes the synthesis of complex organic molecules and the development of new reagents and reaction methods. Panek's ongoing studies in natural product synthesis highlight his commitment to advancing the field through innovative methodologies and collaborative efforts. He is further associated with the Center for Molecular Discovery at Boston Medical Center, where his research support includes various NIH grants.
