Dr. James Pomerantz

Biography

James Pomerantz is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Rice University. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan, obtained in 1968, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Yale University, earned in 1974. His research focuses on various aspects of perception, including visual attention, perceptual organization, and emergent features in vision. Throughout his academic career, Pomerantz has contributed significantly to the understanding of how visual systems process complex stimuli and organize perceptual experiences. His work has implications for cognitive psychology and our understanding of human cognition and perception.
