James Sparks is a Professor at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, and a Fellow of Oriel College. His research focuses on Mathematical Physics, Theoretical Physics, and Geometry, particularly in the areas of supersymmetric field theories and supergravity. Sparks has made significant contributions to the understanding of AdS/CFT correspondence and the geometric structures that arise in string theory. His recent work includes the development of the theory of equivariant localization in supergravity, as well as explorations of special holonomy manifolds and Sasaki-Einstein manifolds. He has previously lectured on various topics in Quantum and Classical Mechanics.
