Biography

Jamie L. Carey is a doctorally prepared neonatal nurse practitioner with a passion for education and mentorship. She obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Wilkes University in 2023, a Master of Science in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University in 2012, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wilkes University in 2007. Jamie has extensive experience in neonatal intensive care units and baby nurseries, and she serves as a lecturer in the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Pennsylvania. Her career includes roles as an adjunct faculty member, and she has been involved in mentoring new-to-practice nurses and nurse practitioners, as well as supporting mothers and infants in their breastfeeding journeys. Outside her professional life, Jamie enjoys spending time with her family and going on vacations, particularly with her children. She is dedicated to fostering a sense of inquiry among her students and is committed to continued personal and professional growth in her field.
