Jamie Wolfe is an assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon University in the School of Art. An animation director and artist, Wolfe’s work spans experimental animation, drawing, painting, and comics. Their practice centers on avant-garde approaches to character narrative, exploring unconventional forms of movement and storytelling. With a distinct visual style characterized by hand-drawn lines and bold palettes, Wolfe’s films have been screened at international festivals and galleries, including the Ottawa International Animation Festival and Anifilm International Animation Festival. Wolfe's work has been featured in publications such as It’s Nice, Cartoon Brew, Vice, and Creative Review. Prior to joining Carnegie Mellon University, Wolfe lived in Los Angeles and served as a visiting faculty member in the Experimental Animation Program at CalArts, as well as a visiting lecturer in the Design Media Arts Department at UCLA. They earned an MFA in Experimental Animation from CalArts in 2018.
