Dr. Jamuna Krishnan

Biography

Jamuna Krishnan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Cornell University. She earned her M.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Michigan Medical School and holds a B.S.E. from the University of Michigan. Her research primarily focuses on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), exploring various facets of this condition, including patient perspectives, multimorbidities, and the effectiveness of treatment interventions. Krishnan has contributed significantly to understanding the disparities in treatment and outcomes for individuals with COPD, particularly in Black adults, and has addressed the educational needs of patients with lung diseases. Her work often utilizes real-world evidence to inform clinical practices and has been published in numerous academic journals. She engages in research to improve cardiovascular health in Black adults with COPD and looks into effective management strategies for respiratory distress in nursing home patients. Through her research, she aims to enhance healthcare delivery and quality of life for individuals suffering from respiratory illnesses.
