Biography

Jan de Jonge is a Full Professor of Work and Sports Psychology at the Human Performance Management Group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He teaches in the Industrial Engineering and Innovation Management departments. His main research focuses on job stress recovery, the DISC-R Model, employee performance, work motivation, creativity, burnout, sickness absence, counterproductive work behavior, cyberloafing, social innovation, and sustainable employability. He also specializes in sports psychology, covering athlete performance, recovery, sleep patterns, and mental training. Jan received his PhD in Occupational Health Psychology from Maastricht University. In addition to his role at TU/e, he is a Visiting Professor at Loughborough University Business School (UK) and an Adjunct Professor at the School of Psychology, Asia Pacific Centre for Work Health and Safety, University of South Australia. He is an active member of several professional networks in Work and Organizational Psychology and collaborates with scholars from various countries. Jan has published over a hundred scientific articles, books, chapters, and presentations, and serves on the editorial board of 'Gedrag & Organisatie,' among other editorial roles.
