Dr. Jan Fransoo

Biography

Jan C. Fransoo is a Professor of Operations Logistics Management at Tilburg School of Economics and Management. He has conducted extensive research in a wide variety of domains and methodologies related to supply chain operations management, publishing widely in leading journals. Currently, he serves as Department Editor for Management Science, Associate Editor for Decision Sciences, and Senior Editor for Production Operations Management. His current research focuses on retail operations for urban logistics in developing markets and the dynamics of global supply chains. Additionally, he explores the interaction between human decision-makers and advanced analytics. Professor Fransoo has collaborated with multinational companies, technology startups, and intergovernmental agencies such as the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. He teaches model-based research in operations and supply chain management and contributes to various master's and PhD programs at Tilburg University. He has previously held a faculty position at Eindhoven University of Technology and maintains affiliations with Kuehne Logistics University and MIT. Furthermore, he co-founded Dinalog, the Dutch Institute for Advanced Logistics and has played a significant role in national research innovation agendas.
