Biography

Jan Hensen is a full professor emeritus in Building Performance at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He has extensive experience in the field, particularly in environmental engineering, where he currently holds a position at the Czech Technical University in Prague. Hensen supervises graduate students and serves as an active external PhD examiner for various international universities. He is also a co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Building Performance Simulation and participates in the editorial boards of several peer-reviewed scientific journals, contributing as an expert evaluator for national and international research projects. As a Fellow of the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA), as well as the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Federation of European Heating, Ventilation, and Air-conditioning Associations (REHVA), Hensen has received numerous national and international awards for his work in scientific practice. He is a founding co-editor of the Journal of Building Performance Simulation published by Taylor & Francis and serves on the editorial board of Energy and Buildings published by Elsevier. Hensen's commitment to education and research is reflected in his involvement with various academic and professional organizations, fostering advancements in building performance and energy efficiency.
