Biography

Jan Kleinheisterkamp is a Visiting Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics, focusing on international commercial arbitration and investment treaty law. He joined LSE in 2008 and became an Associate Professor in 2021. Kleinheisterkamp has worked full-time as an arbitrator and mediator based in Brussels and was appointed to the UK Government's ICSID Panel of Conciliators in 2020. Between 2014 and 2019, he served on the International Chamber of Commerce's Governing Body for Dispute Resolution Services and was involved in the ICC Task Force on Emergency Arbitrator Proceedings. Kleinheisterkamp was a member of the UK government's Advisory Group on International Arbitration from 2012 to 2015 and advised the European Parliament on investment treaty law from 2010 to 2014. He has been recognized as one of the world’s leading practitioners in arbitration by Who’s Who Legal, reflecting his expertise in the field.
