Biography

Jan Kremer is a Professor in Health and Society at Radboud University Medical Center (Radboudumc). Originally trained as a gynecologist, he served as the head of the Nijmegen IVF Center for many years and has conducted significant research focused on patient-centered innovation. In 2003, he founded the Digital IVF Clinic, and in 2007, he initiated a platform for personal health records known as MijnZorgnet. Over his career, Kremer has supervised 30 PhD candidates and has co-authored approximately 230 publications indexed in PubMed. His work has broadened to encompass the intersection of healthcare policy and practice, where he serves as an advisor and supervisor. Kremer is a member of various supervisory boards, including as Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Spaarne Gasthuis and as a member of the Supervisory Board at Espria. In November 2021, he was appointed as a special envoy for appropriate care, initially working with the Healthcare Institute and subsequently with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS) beginning in June 2023. He has been involved in drafting critical frameworks aiming to make healthcare more sustainable and human-centered, with significant publications addressing these challenges scheduled for release in 2022.
