Dr. Jan Marton

Biography

Jan Marton is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Gothenburg with expertise in financial accounting. He conducts both basic and applied research focusing on various aspects of financial reporting, particularly the usefulness of financial statements in relation to capital markets. His applied research delves into the implications of financial statements for firms with substantial intangible assets and private enterprises. In teaching, Marton covers a wide range of topics from introductory courses to doctoral programs, including measurement and disclosure of financial statement items, accounting theory, and financial statement analysis. He has authored several textbooks covering IFRS, accounting theory, and group accounting.
