Biography

Jan Noel joined the University of Toronto's Department of History in 1990 as an Early Canada specialist. She has authored 35 monographs and has received several prestigious awards for her scholarship, including the New York History Award for her work on Indigenous women traders. Her book 'Canada Dry', which examines the temperance movement, was awarded the Macdonald Prize.
