Jan Rotmans, born in 1961, is a prominent figure in the field of Integrated Assessment (IA) and has extensive experience in IA modeling, scenario-building, uncertainty management, and transition management. He is the founder and director of the International Centre for Integrative Studies (ICIS) at Maastricht University, established in 1998. Jan is the vice-president of the Integrated Assessment Society (TIAS) and has established the Dutch Knowledge Network on System Innovations and Transitions (KSI). An accomplished author, he has founded scientific journals in the realm of Environmental Modeling and Integrated Assessment and has published ten books and over 150 peer-reviewed articles spanning topics such as environment, sustainability, governance, and transitions in system innovations.
