Dr. Jane Bailey

Biography

Jane Bailey is a Full Professor at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law, specializing in technology-facilitated violence (TFV), digital hate propagation, and the experiences of young people and women in the digital realm. With a background in law, she completed her LL.M. at the University of Toronto and has extensive litigation experience, having worked at Torys LLP and served as a law clerk for the Supreme Court of Canada. Her research interests include education technology and access to justice, and she has led various SSHRC-funded initiatives focusing on the impacts of technology on justice system stakeholders. Over her academic career, which began in 2002, she has been involved in several significant projects aimed at improving legal outcomes for marginalized groups and enhancing the understanding of digital rights.
