Biography

Dr. Jane Barron is an Associate Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She holds a B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc. (Med), B. Med. Sc, and M.D., as well as Fellowships from the Royal College in Neuropathology. Dr. Barron completed her undergraduate and graduate education at Memorial University and her residency in Anatomical Pathology at the University of Western Ontario, where she also specialized in Neuropathology. She is the sole Neuropathologist in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, and currently serves as the Chair of the Discipline of Laboratory Medicine. Dr. Barron is actively involved in several leadership committees within her department and represents the Medicine Chairs on the senior executive committee of MUN. She is a driving force behind the development and implementation of the strategic plan for her department and is engaged in collaborative research in Neuropathology, while also mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students in shadowing programs.
