Biography

Jane Maslow Cohen teaches feminist theory, property, and water law policy at the University of Texas. She is part of an interdisciplinary group of scientists researching bioprecipitation and its biological nucleation processes related to ice, rain, and snow. Her current scholarly work focuses on the potential legal implications of bioprecipitation at the intersection of science, law, and water policy. Cohen graduated with high honors from Wellesley College as a Durant Scholar and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She spent her junior year at Princeton University and attended Yale Law School and Harvard Law School. Before joining the faculty at the University of Texas in 2002, she practiced law in Boston, Massachusetts, and served on the faculty of Boston University School of Law. Cohen has been recognized for her teaching excellence, receiving the Holleran-Steiker Teaching Prize in 2014 and a nomination for the Frank Oliver Teaching Prize in 2017.
