Biography

Jane Gosine is a Professor in the School of Music at Memorial University of Newfoundland, also cross-appointed in Community Health Humanities, Faculty of Medicine. She teaches courses in musicology and supervises students on projects that intersect the arts and health fields. Her research focuses on 17th-century French music, particularly the works of Marc-Antoine Charpentier, as well as projects related to music's role in health and wellbeing. She co-founded the Breathing Choir, a choir designed to support individuals with respiratory diseases interested in improving their breathing through singing.
