Dr. Jane Gray

Biography

Jane Gray is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin, where she directs clinical training for doctoral students in the Counseling School/Clinical Child Psychology programs. She has been instrumental in developing clinically-focused courses that prepare students for internship training in psychology. Her research interests primarily lie in motivational interviewing and clinical interventions aimed at addressing childhood behavioral internalizing disorders and pediatric obesity. Jane serves as a research mentor to her students, guiding them through a variety of projects related to School Psychology and Counseling Psychology. She has contributed to several publications, including insights into medical neglect in pediatric obesity, and tools for early physician screening of pediatric obesity. Additionally, Jane has been involved in multiple funded projects aimed at training scholars in integrated care settings, highlighting the importance of interprofessional collaboration within healthcare disciplines. She holds a Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, along with an M.A. in Educational Psychology and a B.A. in Psychology from McGill University.
