Biography

Jane E. Indergaard, DNP, RN, is a retired Associate Professor of Nursing at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, with over four decades of clinical practice and 37 years in higher education. Her areas of expertise include behavioral health nursing and critical care/emergency trauma nursing. Indergaard has extensive experience in research review and evidence-based practice, focusing on the development of targeted psychoeducation and the application of research findings in clinical settings. She is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker on ADHD, bringing 22 years of experience in provider education, advocacy, and outreach for individuals living with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Indergaard has contributed to Attention magazine and has been interviewed by national and regional media outlets as a content expert in ADHD. She serves on the national Board of Directors for CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) and is on the editorial advisory board for Attention magazine, also participating in the Advocacy and Public Policy Committee for the organization. She is a local co-founder of the award-winning Red River Valley CHADD affiliate. Indergaard has a passion for international health and has been involved in global health initiatives aimed at advancing nursing practice and education, as well as behavioral health care outreach programs in Africa and China. Currently, her research interests focus on the impact of hormonal fluctuations on women with ADHD across their lifespan, neurocognitive disorders related to ADHD, and the design and implementation of Psychoeducational programming for families and treatment providers.
