Dr. Jane Taggart

Biography

Jane Taggart is a Research Fellow in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of New South Wales. She specializes in primary health care and medical informatics, with a strong focus on the use of e-health tools to support care management for long-term conditions. Her research includes evaluating shared e-care plans for follow-up care in colorectal, breast, and lung cancers, as well as feasibility studies on shared care initiatives for consumers using clozapine. Additionally, she conducts pragmatic trials to assess care sharing for individuals with severe mental illness. Her systematic reviews aim to identify interventions that improve health literacy and behavioral risk factors among primary care providers. Taggart's work extends to establishing electronic Practice-Based Research Networks (ePBRN) to utilize clinical data for quality improvement research in general practices.
