Biography

Jane Terpstra Tong is a Professor at Monash University Malaysia, where she serves as Director (Future) Southeast Asian Centre Workplace Wellbeing and is an Associate Editor for Asian Business & Management. A cross-cultural management scholar, her research focuses on organizational behavior through a cross-cultural lens. Currently, she is investigating employee wellbeing and workplace gender differences using multilevel modelling. Her work has been published in leading journals including the Journal of Vocational Behavior, Journal of International Business Studies, and Strategic Management Journal. Jane has been recognized multiple times for her teaching excellence in both Monash Malaysia and Australia, receiving the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Individual Award in 2023 and the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2020. Throughout her career, she has also held various leadership positions, including Deputy Head of School and Course Director for the Master of International Business. Jane holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a PhD in Management from the University of Manchester, UK.
