Biography

Jane Woodward is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University, where she has taught classes on energy and the environment since 1991. She currently serves on teaching teams for Understand Energy and Stanford Climate Ventures. Jane is a member of the Precourt Institute Energy Advisory Council, which funds multiple sustainable energy education initiatives at the university. Additionally, she is the Founder and Managing Partner of WovenEarth Ventures, an early-stage climate venture fund. Jane is also an investor in early-stage sustainable energy companies and serves as an advisor and director. Before founding MAP Energy, where she focused on various energy investment strategies, she worked as an exploration geologist at ARCO Exploration Company and as a petroleum engineering consultant for Stanford University’s endowment. Jane holds a BS in Geology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, an MS in Engineering Petroleum Geology, and an MBA from Stanford University.
