Professor Dr. Janet Bluemel

Biography

Janet Bluemel is a Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on catalysis, energy materials, and inorganic chemistry. Major interests include immobilized catalysts, which combine heterogeneous and homogeneous catalyst advantages, surface chemistry of oxide materials, and solid-state NMR spectroscopy. She explores the reactivity of metal complexes, the design of effective immobilization strategies, and the application of solid-state NMR to study surface-bound species. Her work fosters a strong multidisciplinary background spanning synthetic chemistry and materials science, leading to collaborations with various industrial contacts.
