Biography

Janet Curran is a Professor at the School of Nursing and serves as the inaugural Quality and Patient Safety Research Chair in Nova Scotia. She is the Scientific Lead of the Strengthening Transitions Care lab at IWK Health, focusing on co-designing and evaluating practice and policy change interventions aimed at improving transitions of care for patients and families. Her collaborative work involves multiple stakeholders, including patients, parents, caregivers, healthcare providers, and policymakers. Curran is also the Co-director of the JBI Centre of Excellence within the School of Nursing and serves as an Implementation Science Co-Lead for the national CHILD-BRIGHT Network. Curran has received several accolades, including the Canadian Pediatric Society Emergency Medicine Research Award and Early Career Research Award from the Faculty of Health Professions at Dalhousie University.
