Dr. Janet Jull

Biography

Janet Jull is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at Carleton University. She holds a PhD from the University of Ottawa, an MSc from Dalhousie University, and a BScOT from Western University. As a researcher, her work primarily focuses on person-centred care, emphasizing shared decision-making and the development of tools to support this approach. She has a significant interest in collaborating with urban Indigenous, Inuit, and Métis communities, ensuring that affected communities are integral partners in the research process. Her research seeks to engage in collaborative approaches to knowledge translation, particularly focusing on sustainable health care practices and the production of research that is implemented within these communities. She is a strong advocate of integrated knowledge translation, striving to work closely with both researchers and communities to bridge the gap between research findings and real-world applications. In her academic career, Janet has actively contributed to various initiatives aimed at promoting health equity and improving health outcomes for underrepresented populations.
