Biography

Dr. Janet Pritchard earned her doctorate in Medical Sciences from McMaster University in 2012, where her dissertation explored the interaction between type 2 diabetes and osteoporosis using MRI microscopy. She was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship at St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation and has been involved in mentorship alongside Drs. Papaioannou, Adachi, and Thabane. Her areas of expertise include aging processes, social and biological determinants of aging, health community services, and nutrition and dietetics. Dr. Pritchard has held various appointments, including a Professor with a Joint Appointment in Fitness, Health Promotion, and Exercise Science at Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning as well as Kinesiology at the University of Guelph-Humber from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, she served as a Sessional Instructor in Kinesiology at the University of Guelph-Humber.
