Biography

Janet Simon Schreck joined Johns Hopkins University in 2015 as the inaugural assistant vice provost for education. She currently serves as the university’s senior associate vice provost for academic affairs. In addition, she directs academic compliance, institutional learning assessment, and accreditation, acting as the accreditation liaison officer for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and serving as the institutional academic grievance officer. As a faculty member of the School of Education, Schreck teaches and advises doctoral students in the EdD program. She is a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist with a focus on neurogenic disorders in adults. Schreck has published multiple articles and delivered numerous national presentations on cognitive-communication changes associated with aging. She is a Fellow of the Maryland Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a Distinguished Practitioner Fellow of the National Academy of Practice.
