Janice Lam received her formal medical training at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS), and completed her Ophthalmology specialist training at the National University Hospital (NUH). She holds a Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (Ophthalmology). Dr. Lam is currently pursuing fellowship training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, and she runs pediatric eye clinics at NUH. In addition to her clinical work, where she performs general ophthalmology and cataract surgeries, Dr. Lam is actively involved in clinical academic research and has authored several publications. Her research excellence was recognized with the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Travel grant in Seattle, USA, in 2013. She contributes to the education of medical students, junior doctors, and residents as the Deputy Director of Undergraduate Medical Education in the Department of Ophthalmology at NUS. Dr. Lam's teaching efforts have earned her numerous awards, including the NUHS Young Clinician Mentor Award (2018) and the NUS Junior Doctor Teaching Award (2017-2018). She is passionate about giving back to society and participates in pro bono cataract trips to remote areas in China, Indonesia, Nepal, and Cambodia.
