Janine Splettstösser is a Full Professor in Applied Quantum Physics at Chalmers University of Technology, specializing in microtechnology and nanoscience. She obtained her master's degree from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany in 2003. In 2007, she received her PhD from the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa in Italy in collaboration with Ruhr-Universität Bochum, under the supervision of Rosario Fazio and Jürgen König. Following her doctoral studies, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Markus Büttiker at Université de Genève, Switzerland. In 2009, she was appointed University Professor at RWTH Aachen, Germany, and moved to Chalmers at the end of 2013. Her research interests lie in the field of quantum transport in nanostructures, with a focus on the study of dynamical transport properties and nanoscale thermodynamics. Notable topics in her research include single-particle emission and relaxation behavior on different time scales, examining quantum dot systems, fluctuations, correlations, and non-thermal resources in thermodynamic processes. She is a recipient of the ERC Consolidator Grant and is a Wallenberg Academy Fellow, providing her with long-term funding to advance her research in quantum transport and thermodynamics.
General requirements apply to all departments listed at Chalmers. Specific departments like Architecture require a portfolio. Programs in Management/Economics do not strictly require GMAT/GRE but high academic standing is prioritized.
