Biography

Jared F. Benge is an associate professor at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin and a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist at UT Health Austin’s Comprehensive Memory Center Mulva Clinic Neurosciences. He specializes in the assessment of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, related disorders, cognitive impairment, and movement disorders. Dr. Benge earned his doctorate in clinical psychology with a major in neuropsychology from the University of Houston. He completed an internship in clinical psychology and a fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. With over 52 publications and numerous presentations at international and national conferences, his research focuses on technology related to cognitive impairment, early detection of cognitive decline, and the understanding of real-world functioning in older adults with neurodegenerative diseases. His work has been supported by the National Institutes of Aging, Parkinson’s Foundation, and other organizations. Additionally, Benge is a clinical educator who mentors research students across various disciplines.
