Biography

Jared R. Curhan is the Gordon Kaufman Professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management and the Faculty Director of MIT’s Behavioral Research Lab. His research focuses on negotiation and conflict resolution, with a particular interest in the psychology of negotiation and the concept of subjective value in negotiation processes. Curhan's work has been supported by the National Science Foundation and he has pioneered methods for examining the long-term effects of subjective value in negotiations. He collaborates with the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, where he is Vice Chair of Research. In addition, he directs MIT's Negotiation Executives Program and founded the Program for Young Negotiators, promoting negotiation training in schools. Curhan is recognized for his outstanding teaching and has received numerous awards, including the Teaching with Digital Technology Award at MIT. His contributions to negotiation education are widely acknowledged, with his work being used to train over 35,000 children in the U.S. and abroad.
