Biography

Jared Ellias is a Professor at Harvard Law School, specializing in corporate bankruptcy law and governance of large firms. He joined the Harvard Law Faculty in July 2022. Prior to his current position, he was a Teaching Fellow and Lecturer at Stanford Law School, a Visiting Associate Professor at Boston University School of Law, and held the Bion M. Gregory Chair in Business Law at University of California, Hastings College of the Law. His previous legal practice involved representing financial institutions in corporate restructuring and bankruptcy cases. Ellias's current research focuses on the governance of large bankrupt firms and the impact of activist investors on bankruptcy filings.
