Dr. Jared Grusd

Biography

Jared Earl Grusd is a Lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School, where he focuses on the intersection of business, technology, and culture. He is currently the Chief Strategy Officer at Chime, recognized as one of the fastest-growing fintech companies. Previously, Grusd held significant roles such as Chief Strategy Officer at Snapchat and General Counsel and Global Head of Corporate Development at Spotify. He also served as the CEO of HuffPost and Global Head of News and Information at Verizon Media. Grusd's experience includes serving as Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer at AOL. In addition to his role at the University of Chicago, he is a co-founder and board member of an education technology company that helps elevate written expression for students, and he co-founded Shake, a legal tech company that was acquired by LegalShield. Grusd has received numerous accolades, including recognition from Business Insider as one of the hundred coolest and most influential people in New York's tech ecosystem, and he has been named one of Adweek's Class of Young Influentials for his impact on business culture. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, a JD with Honors from the University of Chicago Law School, and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
