Biography

Jaroslaw T. Hepel, MD, FACRO is an Associate Professor at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and serves as the Director of the Stereotactic Radiotherapy and Radiosurgery Program at the Lifespan Cancer Institute as well as the Director of Academic Affairs for the Department of Radiation Oncology at Rhode Island Hospital. He previously held the position of Adjunct Associate Professor at Tufts University. Dr. Hepel completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University, graduating with distinction in 1997, and earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester in 2001. He finished his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California, Irvine, followed by a residency in Radiation Oncology at Tufts Medical Center. His research interests include breast cancer treatment, stereotactic radiosurgery, and the evaluation of new technologies in radiation therapy. Dr. Hepel is actively involved in enhancing treatment protocols and has published numerous scientific papers on the subject. He is also a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and the American College of Radiation Oncology, where he serves as the Medical Director of the Accreditation Program.
