Biography

Jarosław Kapuściński is an intermedia composer and pianist originally from Poland. He studied piano composition at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and furthered his education in multimedia and intermedia art during his doctoral studies at the University of California, San Diego, after a residency at the Banff Centre for Arts in Canada. Kapuściński has presented his works at prestigious venues worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the National Gallery in Madrid. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to intermedia art, including recognitions from the UNESCO Film sur l'Art Festival in Paris and the VideoArt Festival in Locarno. In addition to his career as a composer and performer, Kapuściński is also an educator who has lectured internationally and held academic positions at institutions such as McGill University and the University of the Pacific. He has been an Associate Professor of Composition at Stanford University since 2015 and previously served as Chair of the Department of Music from 2016 to 2022.
