Biography

Jasmine Chia is a lecturer at the School of Pharmacy, Monash University Malaysia. Her doctoral research explored the mechanisms of action of zerumbone, providing critical insights into pain modulation pathways. This work has laid the groundwork for ongoing investigations into neuropathic pain, natural product therapeutics, and metabolic disorders. Previously, Jasmine served as a project manager for the South East Asian Nutrition Surveys II (SEANUTS II) in Malaysia, a nationwide study addressing the nutritional status and lifestyle behaviors of Malaysian children. She played a pivotal role in coordinating multi-center data collection and analysis, contributing actionable insights to public health. Additionally, she has enhanced student engagement through innovative teaching approaches during her tenure as a lecturer in Management Science at a different university. Jasmine holds a leadership position as a council member of the Malaysian Association Study of Obesity (MASO) and has actively organized public health initiatives aimed at addressing the obesity epidemic in Malaysia.
