Dr. Jason Abbott

Biography

Professor Jason Abbott is a distinguished academic in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of New South Wales, where he has published over 200 peer-reviewed publications and supervised more than 40 higher research degree students. He has been instrumental in securing more than $20 million in research funding. His leadership roles include serving as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology and chairing the National Endometriosis Clinical Scientific Trials (NECST) Network. His research focuses on surgical gynecology, particularly in the areas of pelvic pain, endometriosis, and menstrual disorders. He supervises an active group of undergraduate and postgraduate students, guiding their research projects and ensuring rigorous academic standards. Abbott is also a prominent member of various healthcare committees and groups, contributing to clinical practice guidelines and research initiatives in gynecology. He is involved in several professional activities, including serving as the AGES President from 2017 to 2019 and participating in the FIGO Menstrual Disorders Group from 2015 to 2023.
