Dr. Jason Hessels

Biography

Jason Hessels is a Canada Excellence Research Chair in Transient Astrophysics at McGill University and a full professor at the University of Amsterdam. He has made significant contributions to the field of fast radio transients, exploring their nature and the physical processes that create them. Hessels's research focuses on using advanced astrophysical tools and methods to precisely localize repeating fast radio bursts (FRBs) and to understand the underlying mechanisms that drive these energetic cosmic phenomena. He leads a research group within the AstroFlash project, which aims to unravel the complexities of FRBs and utilizes a variety of telescopes and observational techniques.
