Biography

Professor Jason Zheng Jiang received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and was awarded a PhD degree from the University of Cambridge in 2010. He joined the University of Bristol in 2013 as a Lecturer and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2018, becoming an Associate Professor and then a Professor in 2021. Professor Jiang holds an EPSRC Research Fellowship and serves as the Academic Lead of the Vibration Suppression Research Unit in the Dynamics Control Research Group. He has won over £3.5 million in research funding to date from Research Councils and industry, and has an international reputation in the fields of network synthesis, dynamic analysis, mechanics, and optimization & design. He has published over 100 papers and patents, receiving the IMechE Paper Award. His main research themes include vibration suppression, control, and performance enhancement of mechanical systems, with applications across automotive, railway, aerospace, and civil engineering. His research contributions have significant implications for industries, supported by a robust £20 million research funding portfolio.
