Dr. Jason Taylor

Biography

Jason Taylor is a Senior Lecturer and the Architectural Digital Design Lead at the Manchester School of Architecture, where he spearheads the development and implementation of the school's digital strategy. His role involves enhancing both physical and digital infrastructures while directing initiatives related to AI and DELTA (Digitally Enhanced Learning, Teaching, Assessment). With a rich academic background, Jason has established a vast global network through collaborations with architectural practices, researchers, and industry leaders in digital technologies, including major companies like Adobe, Autodesk, and Epic Games. Prior to joining MSA, he served as a Digital Design Coordinator at Birmingham City University and held a position at Ravensbourne University as a Teacher and Fabrication Workshop Lead. His current research focuses on the impact of Ethical AI in the context of Design Cognition and seeks to integrate pedagogy with cutting-edge technologies. A Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holder of fellowships from the Royal Society of Arts and the Adobe Education Institute, Jason is dedicated to developing digital literacies and mentoring the next generation of architects and designers. His expertise encompasses a broad range of software applications in areas such as 3D Modeling, Digital Fabrication, Algorithmic Design, and more. Additionally, Jason has collaborated with notable architectural firms and brands to push the boundaries of design, including projects that challenge societal perceptions of disability through innovative designs like 3D printed bionic limbs.
