Biography

Jassim Hassan joined the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering at Concordia University in 2009 as an Assistant Professor on a Limited Term Appointment. He was later promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2017. He earned his PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Calgary, Canada, specializing in Structural Engineering. He also holds a Master's Degree in Structural Engineering from Loughborough University, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Baghdad, Iraq. Before his tenure at Concordia, he taught courses in Structural Engineering at the University of Calgary and has experience working on infrastructure projects in the Middle East. In addition, he is a registered professional engineer in Alberta, Canada.
