Biography

Jaswant Singh is a Professor and Associate Dean of Academic Excellence at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. His academic journey began with a BVSc AH and MVSc from Punjab Agricultural University, India, followed by a PhD from the University of Saskatchewan. With extensive teaching experience since 1999, Dr. Singh has specialized in microscopic anatomy and reproductive science, particularly focusing on ovarian follicle and oocyte development. He has supervised numerous graduate students and has co-directed various continuing education workshops in reproductive ultrasonography. His research interests are centered on understanding factors that influence oocyte competence and studying reproductive aging using bovine models. Over the last decade, his research team has conducted innovative studies on the ultrasonographic, biochemical, and endocrine control of ovarian follicles and has worked on improving reproductive efficiency in both cattle and assisted reproduction in humans. Dr. Singh's work has been continuously funded by agencies such as the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and has led to significant publications in scientific journals.
